Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has a proud 75 year history of doing business in South Australia. CCA uniquely connects with over 10,000 South Australian businesses annually, selling over 1.2 million beverages every day in South Australia.
From humble beginnings, which saw two employees work out of a rented warehouse in Gouger Street; to employing close to 350 employees today at our ‘iconic’ manufacturing home on Port Road Thebarton and distribution centre at Salisbury, Coca-Cola has touched the lives of thousands of South Australians. It has significantly and positively impacted the State’s economy over the course of the past seven decades and will continue to do so for decades to come.
Paramount to CCA’s longevity and success is sustaining its manufacturing footprint here in this State. CCA continues to invest in the betterment of its operations in South Australia, with over $55million spent the past 5 years. CCA SA’s manufacturing capabilities are nothing less than impressive – Thebarton has 8 manufacturing lines which sees the plant produce just under 20 million cases (15% of the national volume), 623 sku’s per annum; including the production of all of the glass ranges for the entire country from the Thebarton plant.
In addition CCA added another string to its bow when an agreement with Beam Global Spirits & Wine Australia was struck to manufacture 8 alcoholic ready to drink beverages that included Jim Beam and Cola, Canadian Club and Cola and Old Crow and Cola. The Thebarton site was singled out to manufacture the drinks for the nation which represented an $8.2 million investment in the future of the plant at Thebarton with the addition of 27 more employees. The first run of Jim Beam and Cola Product took place in 2007.
