OzHarvest is the first perishable food rescue organisation in Australia collecting quality excess food from commercial outlets and delivering it, direct and free of charge, to more than 800 charities providing much needed assistance to vulnerable men, women and children across the country. OzHarvest is a leader in addressing food security and education through their innovative nutrition education sustenance training program NEST and hospitality training program Nourish assisting vulnerable Australians and disadvantaged youth.
In South Australia we have delivered more than 5 million meals to agencies servicing people in need around greater Adelaide in only 5 years. Every workday between 7am and 8pm we pick-up surplus food from food businesses, providing a community service reaching from Gawler to Aldinga and everywhere in between.We rely completely on donations from philanthropic businesses and individuals to keep our operations running.
