The Community Co-operative Store, ‘The Co-op', located in Nuriootpa, is Australia’s leading retail co-operative. Formed in 1944, The Co-op is the largest and longest standing consumer co-operative in Australia. It has 18,000 members that currently own The Co-op Shopping Centre of 24 tenancies, as well as operating 10 businesses within the Centre which allows The Co-op to directly employ over 300 staff.
As a 100% community owned retail cooperative, The Co-op gives back to the community through generous sponsorship and member rebates.
